J.J. Brown Album Release Party Pt. 1

November 14, 2009

This past week I had the pleasure of attending super-producer J.J. Brown’s album release party. Incase you have been living under a rock, I illustrated and designed the album artwork. J.J.’s concept was based on the old Connect the Dots, how-to drawings from our childhood. This was a lot of fun because I got to illustrate all of the amazing artists that worked on the project that have been connected to J.J. through his 10+ year career in the music industry. Some of the artists I was blessed to illustrate I had been a fan of for many years and grew up listening to, like Craig G, and others are recent favorites like Louis Logic and Celph Titled. Throughout the process the Connect the Dots theme became even more relevant as I was fortunate to meet, connect and become friends with others that worked on this amazing project like the super talented Jonny October, Block McCloud and Big Lu. J.J. assembled a great supporting cast of musicians and talent and the album, Connect the Dots, is well worth your support. So run down to Best Buy today or order your copy online! he release party was held at the legendary SOB’s in NYC and featured amazing performances by J.J., Louis Logic, Block McCloud, Jonny October, Craig G and more. I will be posting video soon so stay tuned.

The official Connect the Dots album release party cake. I never had my artwork on a cake before. This was pretty exciting. I didn’t get a piece so I am not sure if it tasted as good as it looked.

November 10th!

November 6, 2009

I recently had the pleasure and honor to illustrate and design the album art for legendary Hip-Hop producer, J.J. Brown’s upcoming solo debut. The album- Connect the Dots, is masterfully crafted, and is proof that Hip-Hop music is alive and well. J.J. is a true artist and entertainer and puts his heart and soul into everything he does.

The album will actually be in stores November 10th and you can get it at all major and independent music outlets as well as online through Amazon and Itunes. If you love great Hip-Hop music then you have to check this album out. Plus it has my artwork, throughout the entire package- so you know it’s good! Haha. I put a lot of work into this project and I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do.

His album release party is November 10th and I would love to see all of you there. It is being held at the world-famous SOBs in Manhattan. Back when I still lived in NYC that was like my home away from home and it is very fitting that we will celebrate the release of this future classic there. There will be a lot of great performances and amazing people there, so be sure to come on by.

Please check out WellDoneEntertainment for more details.

Connect the Dots: Album Artwork

September 21, 2009

Some people think that artists just wave a magic pencil and artwork is created. Very rarely do they realize the hardowork put into a project. Trust me- it is hardly ever easy, but despite the hardwork, and ups and downs, I am very proud to have played a part in this project. Please support it when it comes out and buy a physical copy or download the incredible Itunes Digital Booklet with all of my art.

And while you’re at it please check out J.J.’s personal blog at J.J. Brown’s Story and stay tuned for Connect the Dots!

As many of you know I am very fortunate to be associated with some super talented people. One being the legendary, super-producer J.J. Brown, who is about to release his first solo project as a recording artist. J.J. is responsible for th ebeats and production of many talented emcees such as Louis Logic, Celph Titled, Apathy, Mr. Cheeks and more. I am very proud to say that I illustrated and designed all of the artwork for his upcoming Connect the Dots album which will be available November 10th from Well Done Entertainment.

The artwork I created was also featured in J.J.’s promo video which features the super-talented Reef the Lost Cauze (who I believe has the potential to be the next Tupac and better). Check the video out and leave a comment.
